Delegacioni i par\u00eb diplomatik amerikan vajti menj\u00ebher\u00eb n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri p\u00ebr t\u00eb filluar kontaktet e para dhe kishte nd\u00ebrmarr\u00eb hapat e par\u00eb p\u00ebr hapjen e ambasad\u00ebs s\u00eb Shteteve t\u00eb Bashkuara n\u00eb mars\/prill, 1991, n\u00eb Tiran\u00eb. &nbsp;Ekzistonte nj\u00eb entuziaz\u00ebm i papar\u00eb deri at\u00ebher\u00eb nga Tirana zyrtare dhe Kombi shqiptar n\u00eb p\u00ebrgjith\u00ebsi, por edhe nga Washingtoni zyrtar, p\u00ebr rivendosjen e marr\u00ebdh\u00ebnieve shqiptaro-amerikane dhe p\u00ebr zhvillimin e m\u00ebtejsh\u00ebm t\u00eb marr\u00ebdh\u00ebnieve midis dy kombeve tona \u2013 t\u00eb nd\u00ebrprera, aq brutalisht, p\u00ebr pothuaj 5 dekada nga regjimi barbar komunist i Enver Hoxh\u00ebs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gjith\u00e7ka kishte filluar me k\u00ebmb\u00eb t\u00eb mbar\u00eb n\u00eb marr\u00ebdh\u00ebnie e reja\u2014ose t\u00eb njoma \u2013 aq shum\u00eb inocente q\u00eb dukeshin n\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb \u2013 p\u00ebrball realitetit t\u00eb sot\u00ebm, midis dy kombeve tona. Ish-Presidenti i Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb, Dr Sali Berisha, i ftuar nga Presidenti George H. Bush i vjet\u00ebr, kishte vizituar Sht\u00ebpin\u00eb e Bardh\u00eb n\u00eb qershor t\u00eb vitit 1992. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nj\u00eb vit m\u00eb von\u00eb,&nbsp; me 22 Prill, 1993 Kryemistri i at\u00ebhersh\u00ebm i Republik\u00ebs s\u00eb Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb, Aleksand\u00ebr Meksi ishte ftuar n\u00eb Washington nga Presidenti demokrat Bill Clinton. &nbsp;Presidenti i Shteteve t\u00eb Bashkuara Clinton kishte ftuar udh\u00ebheq\u00ebs shtetesh e qeverish nga Evropa Lindore\/Qendrore p\u00ebr t\u00eb marr\u00eb pjes\u00eb n\u00eb hapjen e Muzeut t\u00eb Hollokaustit n\u00eb Washington, Prill, 1993.&nbsp;Takimi ishte gjithashtu edhe nj\u00eb rast i mir\u00eb p\u00ebr udh\u00ebheqsit e rinj amerikan\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb takoheshin me disa prej udh\u00ebheqsve post-komunist\u00eb t\u00eb Evrop\u00ebs Lindore\/Qendrore, me t\u00eb cil\u00ebt do merreshin p\u00ebr 8-vitet e ardh\u00ebshme t\u00eb mandatit Clinton\/Gore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shqip\u00ebria p\u00ebrfaq\u00ebsohej nga Kryeministri i saj, Aleksand\u00ebr Meksi me delegacionin e tij, i cili zhvilloi nj\u00eb takim me Presidentin Clinton e q\u00eb pas pak koh\u00eb, takimit iu bashkua edhe Zevend\u00ebs Presidenti Al Gore. T\u00eb dy udh\u00ebheqsit amerikan\u00eb u treguan shum\u00eb t\u00eb interesuar p\u00ebr zhvillimet demokratike n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri por edhe p\u00ebr zhvillimet n\u00eb rajon, duke marr\u00eb parsysh\u00eb luft\u00ebn n\u00eb ish-Jugosllavi. T\u00eb gjith\u00eb e dinin se ishte \u00e7eshtje kohe q\u00eb lufta do p\u00ebrhapej edhe n\u00eb Kosov\u00eb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shqip\u00ebria kishte treguar interesim q\u00eb t\u2019i bashkohej Aleanc\u00ebs s\u00eb Atlantikut Verior, NATO-s. \u00c7do delegacion i qeveris\u00eb s\u00eb re t\u00eb Partis\u00eb Demokratike t\u00eb Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb \u2013 n\u00eb takimet e tyre me zyrtar\u00ebt m\u00eb t\u00eb lart\u00eb amerikan\u00eb n\u00eb Washington \u2014 k\u00ebrkonte n\u00eb at\u00eb koh\u00eb, antar\u00ebsimin e Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb n\u00eb NATO.
